Audition Information

Audition locations, dates and times are listed in the Newsletter, the Members Calendar and published on various theater web sites. Auditions are open to all individuals. However, not all auditions are "Open Call." At the Director's discretion, you may need to make an appointment. Auditions are normally held at either the Shannondell Performing Arts Center in the main Shannondell complex in Audubon, PA or the Auditorium of Upper Merion Area High School (UMAHS) in King of Prussia, PA.

Please be sure that you know at which venue your audition is being held.

Even if you have never auditioned before, please consider it. If you don't make it into the particular show for which you have auditioned, there are always tech and backstage openings that need to be filled. And there is always next time...

The Players' 2008-2009 Auditions

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice

Opens July 12th, 2008. Closes July 26th, 2008.
Seven (7) Performances, all at Shannondell
This will be an extra large production of Joseph, including both an adult and a child chorus. We will cast about 17 (13 minimum) male lead parts, at least three strong female vocal leads, a strong mixed gender adult chorus (with an emphasis on vocal performance, but with some simple dance requirements,) at least 12 strong female dancers (who do not necessarily need to have strong vocal skills,) and a mixed (age and gender) child chorus with up to 30 child singers (with limited dance requirements.)

This will be a perfect production for family participation, including your family's first theatrical experience. We will require the parents of the child chorus members (who are not otherwise in the production) to join the stage management team Except for parents of children under 8 (who must attend all rehearsals,) you will participate on a scheduled basis. You will only be responsible for about 1 in 3 rehearsals and will get to see all of the performances from the audience. This participation is required to insure the controlled movement of a large cast, which is often compared to the coordination of the Invasion of Normandy., but in reality is a fun and rewarding contribution to the success of the production.
