To download this article, visit the Web site at www.kofpplayers.org The King of Prussia Players dispel the chill of winter with the warm humor and crackling wit of "Blithe Spirit." Charles Bendas directs Noel Coward's fast-paced tale of Charles Condomine (Tom Blair), an author whose current project involves the paranormal. To help in his research for the new book, he invites good-natured psychic medium Madame Arcati (Debie Wells) to conduct a seance after a dinner party. She is going to make an attempt to contact the spirit of his flamboyant first wife, Elvira (Lavinia Decastro). Charles' second wife, Ruth (Andrea Ambs), is a practical woman who isn't threatened by the memory of Elvira and certainly doesn't believe in her ghost. Also attending the spooky gathering is skeptical Dr. George Bradman (Barry Childress), his high-strung wife Violet (Elise Dervinis), and the Condomines' flighty maid Edith (Kelly Richards). No one expects Elvira to actually appear, but the "blithe spirit" soon makes her presence known---at least to Charles, who has a hard time convincing Ruth he's not drunk or crazy. Now Charles is forced to deal with two Mrs. Condomines as the words---and knickknacks---start to fly. "Blithe Spirit" will be performed by the King of Prussia Players Feb. 7, 8, 14 & 15 at 8pm and Feb. 9 at 2pm at the Upper Merion Area High School in King of Prussia.
