To download this article, visit the Web site at www.kofpplayers.org The King of Prussia Players weave a spell of enchantment with the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, "Cinderella." The classic fairy tale is the story of a good-natured young woman (Erin Childress) who spends her days caring for her rather ungrateful family. Cinderella is forever cooking, cleaning, washing, and ironing under the watchful eyes of her finicky stepsisters Joy (Dana Courtine) and Portia (Brooke Childress), and formidable stepmother (Nancy Kadwill). Still, Cinderella dreams of another life, one filled with exotic people and places, and perhaps even a dash of adventure and romance. The family---in fact, the entire town---have their everyday lives turned upside-down with the delivery of invitations to a grand ball given by the King (Brian Schwartz) and Queen (Gretchen Boehmler) in honor of their son, the Prince (Troy Fisher). The Prince is a charming young man with a dream of his own: to find that special someone to make his life complete. Cinderella believes she has no chance to attend the grand event, but her Godmother (Patty Bowman) appears to show the young lady that impossible things happen every day. The story of love and magic is directed by Julie Kuerschner, with musical direction by Steven McBridge and choreography by Michelle Elbin and Laurel Smith. "Cinderella" will be performed by the King of Prussia Players May 2, 3, 9 & 10 at 8pm and May 4 at 2pm at the Upper Merion Area High School on Crossfield Road in King of Prussia.
