The original production of Bye Bye Birdie was a classic Broadway success story. None of the 'experts' expected it to be a hit, but with songs like Put On A Happy Face, One Boy, A Lot Of Livin' To Do and Kids, we know now that it couldn't miss. The mixture of the adult plot (an agent needs just one success to propose marriage to his long term, anxious girl friend), the teen plot (a young fan gets to meet her idol) and the parent-teen plot (What's the Matter With Kids Today?) this show has the timeless stuff that musical comedy is made of. Birdie has a large cast of varied ages. We hope to continue our tradition of attempting to cast families, where possible.
