Cast Bios
Diane Stevens: Vivian Lawlor in Mixed Doubles
Diane is happy to be working with the Charla and Charlie again after
recently working with them in All in the Timing. Diane’s
home theater is the Playcrafters of Skippack. She has also appeared in
an infommercial for Heartland Music of the Fifties and recently appeared
in her first Independent film. Some of her favorite roles from East and
West coast theater are Olive in the female version of The Odd Couple,
Sylvia in Broken Glass, The Wicked Witch in The Wizard
of Oz, Bernice in Musical Comedies of 1940 and Shirley in Early
One Evening at the Rainbow Bar and Grill. Diane has found creating
a character within a premiere play a fun experience, especially with such
a talented cast. She wishes to thank Charla and Charlie for the opportunity.
Barry Childress: Larry Kaplan in Mixed Doubles
After a try at Directing (It's A Wonderful Life at Playcrafters,)
I'm happy to be back in an acting role with The Players and to have the
opportunity to do my first “premiere” show. I have performed some of my
favorite roles here: Dr. Sloper in The Heiress; Ludie Watts in The
Trip to Bountiful; Rev. Hale in The Crucible; and Earl/Abel
in The Murder Room. My cover life as a salesperson of filtration
equipment for industrial and municipal use fails to inhibit my obsession
with acting. Some might say, neither does my lack of talent. Thanks to
my family for their continued love and support; Heaven knows I need it.
Allison Ector: Kristine Gallagher in Mixed Doubles
Allison fell in love with theater after seeing Hansel and Gretel:
The Operetta at the Frankfurt Opera. By age 7, she was cast in
her first production. She went on to perform in numerous plays in
Germany, Atlanta and Stockbridge, including co-starring in a production
of the Humperdinck operetta. She spent 5 years in Western Mass. at
the Berkshire Playhouse, the Unicorn Studio Theater and the McDermott Theater.
Locally, she studied at West Chester University and the Weist Baron School
. Her favorite roles include: Bobbi in Last of the Red Hot Lovers,
Billie in Born Yesterday, Catherine in View from the Bridge,
Helen in The Miracle Worker and of course Gretel in Hansel and
Gretel. Allison is thrilled to be performing on-stage again,
especially here with the King of Prussia Players!
Jim Ludovici: Robbie Hoffman in Mixed Doubles
Jim has appeared in over 45 shows in the Philadelphia region since his
first stage appearance almost 20 years ago. At King of Prussia, recent
roles include Gerry Evans in Dancing at Lughnasa, Eilert Lovborg
in Hedda Gabler and Lenny Ganz in Rumours. Other favorite
roles include Shylock in Merchant of Venice, the Duke in Measure
for Measure, John Proctor in The Crucible, and the Narrator
/ Mysterious Man in Into The Woods. He has played that role several
times including understudying it at the Arden Theater. He's
taken classes with Terry Nolen at the Arden, Maddy DiStefano and
Jose Aviles at the Wilma, Don Bovinlogh out of NY, and studies voice with
Antonio Conte Pugliese, an opera singer in Philadelphia.
Sandi Liberatori: Marcy Rothenberg in Mixed Doubles
Sandi, a mom and attorney, has loved theater since high school.
Over the years, she's performed leading roles in many productions. A few
of her favorites are: Fiddler On The Roof, A Funny Thing Happened
On The Way To The Forum, How To Succeed In Business Without Really
Trying, The Sound Of Music, The Importance Of Being Earnest,
and Moliere's The Imaginary Invalid. Most recently, she appeared
in the premiere production of Winter Solstice at Playcrafters in
Skippack. Sandi is also an accomplished musician and has worked as
both a musical director and orchestra pianist. Sandi thanks her husband
and children for being her biggest fans and her parents for the piano lessons.
George Letkiewicz: Frank Romano in Mixed Doubles
This is George’s first appearance with the King of Prussia Players.
He welcomes the chance to create a completely new character based only
on Bill Wine’s words, Charlie and Charla’s direction, and his own acting
intuition. It has been an exciting and stimulating trip.
Jessica L. Kohn: Cinnamon Fitzpatrick in Parentheses
Although new to the King of Prussia Players' stage, Jessica has appeared
in many other local productions. Some of her favorite roles include Patsy
in Perfect Pie and, most recently, Violet Peterson in It's a
Wonderful Life. She is currently enrolled at the Walnut Street Theater
School. Jessica is very excited to be a part of this production and
for the opportunity to bring a new character to life. She would like to
thank Tom, everyone involved with this show and the “Bendi” for believing
in her abilities to pull this off! As always, love and thanks to
family and friends.
T. Patrick Ryan: Gary Sobel in Parentheses
This is T. Patrick's first show after moving to Pennsylvania from Boston.
T. Patrick won an award as the director for his production of Extremities.
He has also directed Vanities, Independence, The Laramie
Project, Crimes of the Heart and Labor Day. Acting
roles include It's Only A Play, To Gillian on Her 32nd
Birthday, Crimes of the Heart, Unfinished Business, Getting
Out and his favorite The Lion In Winter. He has also appeared
on the ABC soap All My Children and in the films Mischief
and Asylum.
Charlie and Charla Bendas: Directors
Charlie and Charla are pleased to have this opportunity to direct a
premiere show with such a talented cast. Between them they have directed
over 30 shows, most recently David Ives’ All in the Timing and Do
Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? at Playcrafters in Skippack.
With the King of Prussia Players, they have directed A Trip to Bountiful
and Blithe Spirit and Charla appeared in Hedda Gabler . This
coming summer Charla will be directing the hit British musical Honk!
at Playcrafters. Both Charlie and Charla have enjoyed working with Mr.
Wine and hope to see more of his work staged in the future.
Bill is currently the movie critic for KYW News radio and previously served in the same capacity for FOX Philadelphia. In addition Mr. Wine is a tenured professor at La Salle University in the Department of Communication. His plays, which include Shrink!, Deficit, The Tube, Jolts, Tenure, and Your Plays Or Mine?, have been produced nationwide. Notable venues include: The Matrix Theater in Los Angeles, the San Francisco One-Act Theater Company, the Bailiwick Repertory Theater in Chicago, the TADA! Theater and the American Theater of Actors in New York City, the Philadelphia Theater Company, the Silver Spring Stage and the Greenbelt Arts Center in Maryland, the Dalton Little Theater in Georgia, the Theater Guild of New Jersey, La Salle University, and the Colonial Playhouse, in Aldan, PA.
